The Violinist
I went to Georgia to visit my son. We had fun playing on the beach at Tybee Island. We ate at a great restaurant in Savannah. I really enjoyed walking through town. Savannah has town squares about every block or two. As we walked through one of them, I was intrigued by a violinist who was sitting on a park bench. I could tell he loved his music. I painted this in honor of my friend Hunter Haskell.
The picture has the violinist on a bench which is silhouetted against the bright background of sun on the grass behind him.

Impressive! I’m always intrigued with your treatment of a person’s clothing, not to mention the figure itself and the great background.

Tom…that hair is classic~it really goes with the instrument. While in Phoenix, I had the chance to sit down with the musicians (some of them) in my family….my sisters daughter, son-in-law and kids. They all play stringed instruments…violin, guitar, base..it was awesome. I made the comment to Lizz (my niece) that her violin added such a rich dimension to the guitar music..plus we were all singing. You made a mistake by not continuing but God gave you other talent to develop and you’ve done so in an amazing way. Richest blessings!

This is great! You can paint a violin even better than you can play one 🙂

I’m honored, Tom. Someday, maybe I’ll be able to play the way you paint. Thanks for all for your support and for this awesome painting!
