I love Britain. My ancestors were British. Whenever I go there I feel like I’ve gone back home. The soldiers with their ceremonial uniforms excite me. I should tell you exactly what street these guys are on, but I can’t remember the name of it. I do know they’re just up the street from the gate to 10 Downing Street. Their helmets shine. Their uniforms are crisp and gallant. I love the pageantry. It makes me proud that British blood flows in my American body. This was really a fun painting.

Really nice painting and all that stuff, but this REALLY makes me love being British, and wishing I was there, and want to hear everyone speaking that accent, and try driving on the other side of the road… really – I’m pretty consumed with it all! Good job Tom!

What a beautiful horse! This brings back so many memories of our 1996 tour of England. I remember walking past that sentry.

I think that painting animals is so difficult, but you really captured this horse!

Tom, in a way you answered you’re own question with the title of the painting. The Trooping of the colours is a daily event at Horse Guards Parade, London 🙂
